Charles "Chuck" Peter Morrison Mitchell Sep 19, 1941 — Nov 13, 2023   Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, November 13, 2023 in Ottawa, Ontario.   Chuck Mitchell, formerly of Oceola/Cobden and Ottawa, dearly loved father of Melanie Mitchell (feline friend River); Ryan Mitchell (wife Karen); Stephanie Mitchell (husband Denis Dion), all of Ottawa. Grandfather to Evan, Cameron, Adam, Michael & Mathieu. Great-grandfather to Malaki and Grace.Predeceased by parents Dr. Robert Morrison Mitchell & Jessie Claire Mitchell (nee Williams), brother Robert Williams Alexander Mitchell, sister Tania Suzanne Mitchell, step-mother Elizabeth Winton Mitchell and his children's mother Connie McCormick. Survived by brother Terrence "Terry" Mitchell and numerous extended family members.

There are those who are placed upon this earth to bring comfort and service to others just as there are those who are placed here and may find themselves in need of that comfort and service. The former are what this site is all about... two people who devoted their lives in the service of God as missionaries to China during the early years of the 20th Century.. The two are Reverend Robert A Mitchell and his wife Dr Jennie Mitchell. They spent some thirty years working in Honan Province, China as missionaries running a missionary school and giving medical and spiritual sustenance to the local inhabitants. During that time they had three children, one of which they sent back to Canada to be educated.... This site is a reproduction of the letters that were sent home to him .... some are mundane but many are profound and all share with us the way things were during the 1920's in China... And so we begin.....
